Smart, capable but second-guessing when it comes to money?
You’re in good company.
One-to-one coaching on how to get ‘good’ with money for your life.
Does this sound like you?
I think about money all the time, and also avoid it completely. My spirit animal could be an ostrich.
I’ve got money sitting there, and a nagging feeling it should be doing more. I hear a lot about investing but is it safe?
I’m great at what I do. But the more successful I get, the more embarrassing it feels to ask questions about money.
Friends start talking pensions and early retirement, and I swerve the subject. I’ve got no idea what I’m on track for.
I’m self-employed, and there’s no HR team anymore. How do I manage my money and set things up properly?
I’m facing a big life moment but don’t know if the maths stacks up or what’s best to do. I feel a bit overwhelmed by it all.
Nobody taught us this
The thing is, it’s not our fault!
Nobody sat us down at school and explained this stuff. (Learning how to use a protractor was apparently way more important.)
So most of us are winging it, quietly assuming everyone else has it sorted. Spoiler alert: They don't.
Feeling lost with money isn't a personal failing. It's a gap. And the good news is gaps can be filled.
You just need the time and space to figure out where you’re at, where you want to be and a financial friend by your side with a good trowel and some grout (have I taken this metaphor too far?!).
Hi, I’m Aim
For 14 years I worked in Financial Services at KPMG, where I became a Director. Ironically, when I earned the most, I owed the most - my keyboard doubled as a credit card rack at bonus time! It was only when I started questioning my life and career, and eventually took the leap into self-employment, that I realised how little I actually knew: what should I do with my pension? Do I have enough? Should I pay off any extra against my mortgage or invest? Where do I even start?
I was meant to be a grown-up but felt anything but when it came to money.
So I got serious and went deep into every aspect of personal finance. That was ten years ago, and my money has been transformed: I feel empowered, confident and clear on where I am now and where I’m headed. I just wish someone had explained all this to me sooner, in plain English.
That’s what I do now. And I promise I’m not a socks-and-sandals maths teacher. Some of my favourite sessions involve Skittles, a sheet of A4 and a handful of coloured pens - if you love a spreadsheet we can go there too.
Behind the Skittles is proper training: I now hold the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and the gold-standard Wise Monkey Financial Coaching accreditation.
Wherever you’re at, I’m here to help money make sense, work through decisions, get set up and equip you with skills that will empower you for life.
In other words, together, we’ll nail it.
